BUP Career and Education Fest 2018, powered by Pathao, in association with bKash commenced on the 12th of September, 2018 brought forward major opportunities for the graduates of BUP for the third time. Balancing the encumbrance of finals and stressing over their ECAs, the students barely got the opportunity to expose themselves to the pathways to their dream careers. Relative to this environment, BUP Career Club organised this event for its students to ensure their extensive involvement to invigorate their minds towards the exciting careers waiting for them just outside BUP. The buoyant event was blessed by the inauguration of former BUP Vice Chancellor Major General Md Emdad-Ul-Bari, ndc, psc, te; Michael Foley, former CEO of Grameenphone; Hussain Md. Elias, CEO of Pathao and few other distinguishable guests.
On the second day, 13th September 2018, witnessed a business case competition arranged by Pathao, where final year students were asked to create a 360 degree marketing campaign for PathaoPay, where one worthy contestant achieved an internship opportunity in Pathao along with prize money of BDT 10,000. The day proceeded with education counselors visiting the fest to encourage students to pursue their higher education along with enlightening them with knowledge about relevant prospects in universities abroad. The counselors included several eminent figures including: Jakaria Jalal, Head of Division at Bashundhara LP Gas Limited; Asif Ahmed Tonmoy, Market Systems Analyst at ACDI/VOCA and others. The event consisted of an in-house aptitude test for the position of Management Trainee and Territory Officer, conducted by BKash; the program eventually got a huge response from the BBA and MBA students of Bangladesh University of Professionals.
The event finally drew to an end on the 15th of September, 2018. A warm closing ceremony was arranged for the honorable guests and representatives from the respective participating organisations. The participating companies consisted of Grameenphone, Asianpaints, BEOL, Rahimafrooz, PFEC Global, Banglalink, Talent Centric, Apex, etc.
Pathao, bKash, The Financial Express, Golden Harvest and BUP Photography Society were cordially appraised for their immense support in making the signature event a success.
